Jury hears from expert on sexual abuse
The jury has watched most of a 90-minute deposition with David Lisak, a childhood sexual abuse expert and professor at the University of Massachusetts at Boston.
During the taped interview with defense attorney Ted Bruns and prosecutor Matthew Geary, Lisak said many violent adults have a history of childhood abuse. Also, male sexual abuse victims are often more profoundly affected later in life, he said.
Lisak did not interview Ricky Gray. Instead, he relied on hypothetical information about Gray’s background to explain how Gray’s alleged sexual abuse by his half-brother could have affected him.
